We revived movie night last night after a long 4 month hiatus. It felt good to do something normal for our family again. Friday night movie night was instituted more than a year ago. Everyone in the family looked forward to it and we rarely missed a Friday. Somewhere in the midst of all the chaos this Summer it got lost. Last night we all sprawled out together, with lots of yummy treats, and watched Nim's Island. What a way to bring movie night back...this movie was so good. Even Andy raved about it and let me tell you he is normally very hard to please. We welcomed our tradition back like an old friend. With open arms and lots of smiles. Today we are off to a festival! Andy and I have made a pact to purposely smile. Even when the kids are in the backseat fighting or whining about not getting their own way. We will smile. And eventually they will smile as well. I think this Summer we lost sight of the fact that our mood sets the tone for their mood. So even if it kills us we will smile and talk softly:)
